The first thing I learnt yesterday morning when I woke up was an update on twitter - 'King of Pop Michael Jackson is Dead'. I couldn't believe it at first, but later it was confirmed and yes he was as dead as the day is long. I was beyond grief.

 

Michael Jackson was one of the first American singers I knew, besides John Denver, Enya and Britney Spears. His music has opened the first window for me to the fantastic mysterious western culture. I remember when I was still living in liaocheng my hometown, around the age of 14, my mom and i would always take a walk after dinner and stop at our favourite music store, the only one in the little town that sells western music. Tapes, not CD or Mp3s, arranged by artist names inside a glass cabinet. I would lean over and stick my face on the glass to admire those tapes, lost in the colorful tape covers and images of laowais that I've never seen for real, and felt very happy. My mom wasn't hesitant to invest in those english tapes with the hope that it would broaden my horizon and perhaps improve my English, so as to lay the gound work to go abroad and live in the USA. Every little traitor's dream. Unfortunately, I haven't set foot in the USA for once and my mom would never see that day coming. But those stone age tapes had created a beautiful dream in my little heart. I remember watching MJ's mv on our small 21 inch TV, and wowing at his magical moon walk. Thriller, Black or White, Beat it, Billie Jean, Dangerous.... His skin color was also a very interesting topic to discuss. If the mood strikes, we would impersonate Michael Jackson and have a good laugh.  Those good old days...

 

Michael Jackson never set foot on China mainland and never would know he has so many fans here. It's a shame. But we'll always remember him and the moments we spent listening to his songs and dreaming in the world he has created for us.

HOWEVER, if you try 'gay porn', 'lesbian sex' or 'beastiality', there will be tons of links and most of them have not been censored by the Chinese gov, yet.  I wonder where is the end? There's always gonna be new porn websites everyday showing up on the search engine, if you intend to find them, you always will. It's impossible to censor all of them, so what's the point of making a huge effort to censor any of them? Just let it be. Nobody is forced to look at those websites and it's only a matter of self-discipline. When people need materials to jerk off, nobody has the right to take that freedom away, it's none of the gov's business to interfere with such highly personal matter.

 

The gov really doesn't want Chinese people's to see the 'western garbage'. Honestly, some of those are rather nasty and disturbing, but hey, that's life, that's what people do, and the US is still the leader of the world, so get over it. I've seen the most disgusting 'two girls and a cup' and I'm still alive and mentally healthy. No scientic research shows that looking at porn will stupidize a person or kill him/her. Porn is merely an entertainment. There's no such magazine like Penthouse or Playboy in China, where do you think Chinese people get their wank material from? But the gov tries to brainwash people with the propaganda that sex is bad, sex will destroy the young people and the country, and this propaganda is totally ungrounded with any convincing data. Baidu has been castrated, now Google becomes the next target.

 

What's so wrong of having a dirty mind anyway? The gov should realize internet savvy netizens can always find ways to find porn websites, and nothing will stop the reproductive urge and curiosity of human beings. UNLESS, unless the gov doesn't want Chinese people to be normal human beings...unless..they are trying to turn us into numb powerless obedient slaves for the might communist party! Becuase, access to those porn websites will likely awaken Chinese people's basic human needs, the need for sex. Sexually repressed people are dumb and easier to manipulate, while people who are sexually liberated might start thinking: hey, we want more than free love, we also want a politically liberated country of the people, by the people and for the people!

I find the Bauhaus style very appealing and I've been doing artwork with basic shapes. With proper arrangement, simple shapes can create aestheticly attractive images. In China we have a set of gadget called "qiqiaoban", aka Tangram, which is used to develop children's creativity at an early stage. It's a very ancient game which can be dated back to Tang dynasty. Legend has it there's more than 1600 ways of combination to create vivid images using just 7 pieces of Tangram boards. It just proves the power of simple and basic shapes. In fact, if you observe closely, everything can be broken down into pieces of basic shapes: circles, squares, triangles ect. Amazing how complicated things can be simplified, and simple things can become so complicated. Maybe that's how the universe works.

It's been foggy all day long. To be exact, it's a mixture of fog and sulphurous pollutants. The sun went on a vacation and the city is covered in heavy mist. There is no light, no color, everthing has only one hue -grey. The air is of a light shade of grey, the trees of a darker shade of grey, the people, the buildings, all immersed in this deathly lifeless hue. It feels very grim and miserable, wouldn't surprise me if someone tell me this is the end of the world.

 

As the clock ticks away, it's only getting darker and darker, foggier and more humid. Then finally it starts to drizzzle. People out on the street look like those walking dead from some low budget horror film. I can't make out their faces, they are just moving objects with blurry silhouette. Look closely and find no trace of emotion. Everyone is like, dead!

 

I need to take a shower immediately and wash off the acid rain drops from my skin, prepare a cup of hot chocalate, then tuck myself in and start counting the days until I leave for Yunnan. This kind of weather is perfect for reclusiveness and self-reflection, although it would be even nicer to get drunk with certain people so the eyes will shut involunteerily and the mind will drift into unconsciousness. The less time spent in plague to look at this miserable world, the better. 

 

跟房东老女人彻底翻脸，这个徐娘半老的老太太当初也不看看自己脸上皱纹都欲壑难填，还不知羞耻的让我喊她姐（应该喊奶奶才对！）。喊她姐也就罢了，这个老女人还老拿威胁的语气跟俺说话，“限你三日之内将水电费交了，否则...警察...”交几百块的水电费当然不在话下，但这种口气真让人恼怒，老娘天不怕地不怕，难道几个多管闲事的警察俺反倒怕了不成？再说俺付了房钱，依然是此房光明正大的使用者，她凭什么叫警察企图私闯民宅？我看该打110的该是俺才对。

 

她不知羞耻得将俺5000人民币押金扣下一分不想还，本来想跟她好好商量, 委屈求全，不料她视财如命，杀人如麻，滴血不剩，根本无意将押金退还，还企图用奸计骗俺交完水电费。更与中介几个添腚官勾结一气，矢口咬定俺违约，也不看看合同上关于提前退租的违约一事怎么写的。合同明文规定：租赁期间乙方未经甲方同意擅自退租的，视为违约。俺提前整整一个月告知，经过她亲口同意，怎么能叫擅自？又怎么叫违约？俺好心帮她找转租人以省却她昂贵的中介费，谁料这个老女人不领情，非要屁颠屁颠跑到中介那里央求他们找，真是不知好歹。亏她还是什么什么政府干部，连个中介的作用都搞不明白。那几个中介公司的狗贼自己都说了：你们发生什么纠纷跟我们屁事都没关系，我们只是见证方！他们这些狗贼当然没有什么义务给房东做牛做马，他们一旦拿到中介费就一溜烟的躲得远远的，他们唯一的目的就是想尽千方百计促成交易拿中介费。这愚蠢的老女人把个中介待做亲生儿子一般，乖乖将中介费奉上，做中介的能遇到如此好房东真是三生有幸。

 

老女人碰到俺这样不随便任人宰割的房客算她倒霉。想起来这个老女人还真是伪君子一个，人面兽心，说什么咱们都是朋友，啊，将来你从国外回来继续住我的房子。呸，做朋友的哪来“限你三日之内”以及各种让人嗤之以鼻的行为？俺才不会这么傻，继续心肝情愿任你宰割。你既然想来硬的，俺也绝不给你吃软的。俺将水龙头一松，漏槽一堵，房门一锁，远走高飞，你这老女人当初同意换锁，根本没有钥匙，看你还进不进得来。哈哈哈...
